Phangan Beaches

Most islands in the Gulf of Thailand are blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and Koh Phangan is no exception. The Thai word for beach is "haad", so most beaches have this word included in the name.

Beaches around Amaresa Resort

On walking distance from our resort are Haad Leela (5mins) and Haad Rin Nai (15mins, the Full Moon Party Beach). Haad Rin Nai is probably the most glamorous and happening beach on the island. it is nicely tucked in a bay so the water is perfect for a swim. On the beach terhe are several beach bars and there is always some activitiy going on like beach soccer or beach volley. Come here to present your sixpack to the crowd an to enjoy the Night festivities at the beach bars like the famous Cactus bar or the Drop inn Club.

Beaches West

Beaches on the West side of the island are long stretched, with somewhat shallow and clam waters so they are very suitable for family settings. You can easily access these beaches by road and in the afternoon, the Sunset provides a great view.

Beaches East

The beaches on the East side of the island are more bay-shaped, and are not connected to each other. The best way to reach these beaches is by long-tailboat from the Haad Rin Pier, as the trip by road is a bit less comfortable (though quite adventarous). As a result, the beaches on the East side are really away from the crowd and not very much developed. The waters are excllent for swimming. People planning to stay for 2 days easily end up staying here for 2 months.

Beaches: Amaresa's Choice

The best beaches in our opinion are the following:

  • Beaches Haad Rin: Haad Leela, Haad Rin Nai.
  • Beaches West:  Haad Ban Tai, Haad Yao, Haad Salad.
  • Beaches East: Haad Yuan, Than Sadet, Thong Nai Pan (Yai and Noi).
